Halloween/Fall Recitals Coming Up!

Posted by Mary Beth Eversole on September 25, 2013 at 9:45 PM

Hey Everyone!

Just a reminder to keep praciting hard because your Fall/Halloween in-recitals are coming up in just about a month! Don't forget you need to invite AT LEAST three people to come to your lesson time to hear you perform your two pieces AND costumes, of course, are always encouraged;-) See you at your lesson!

Those of you already in my studio know this! For new visitors, please read! The studio has relocated from Fort Collins, CO to Van Nuys, CA! Many of my Colorado students are staying with me via Skype lessons. I've been teaching online lessons via Skype and Facetime for almost a year now and they work great! So for those of you in Colorado who wish to take from this studio, give me a call or email me and we can set up a free Skype lesson to try it out!

For my LA interested students, please email or call to get my studio address for in-person lessons, or you are welcome to take lessons via Skype as well. The first half hour lesson is free.

Also, check out the new S.M.T. method that I was just certified in. It's a great technique for actors and musicians that need to memorize lines quickly and be confident in their comprehension of the script/music they just memorized!

Thank you all!

Hi All!

Everyone is hard at work on their recital pieces and I'm so happy with all the work each student is putting in! This year should be a ton of fun! Remember to those who are having the in-lesson recital (basically all students except adults) the studio can fit about 10 guests so please keep that in mind when inviting people! You must invite AT LEAST 2 people to come hear you:-) Costumes are optional but encouraged for those who celebrate Halloween. There will be refreshments after the performances.

Adults don't forget your October Jam Session is Sunday 10/28 with arrival time at 5pm and performing starting at 5:30pm. Please bring  hors d'oeuvres to share with everyone. It will be a wonderful evening!

Hi All!

Well it's that time of year again and along with a new school year, there are new things in the studio as well. Lessons are now taking place at the studio as in-home services are no longer offered. There are new events like the musical movie nights and returning events like the required studio recitals and the NATS and FCMTA optional events (check out the calendar for all events) and things are getting off to a great start!

As a reminder, please always review your guideline policy for the scheduling and absence/cancellation policies.

I know a lot of you are transitioning to new schools this year so I just want to say good luck and I look forward to having fun in your lessons!!

Happy Fall!!

Event Updates

Posted by Mary Beth Eversole on January 21, 2011 at 10:56 PM

The Spring Formal Recital location has been decided upon: St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 2000 Stover, Fort Collins, CO 80525. For those who participated last year this is the same place. The recital is on Friday May 27th beginning at 7pm.

The Summer Recital theme has been decided opon- this year it is Amusement Parks. The students will perform a recital in the morning and then students, parent chaperones and I will carpool to Elitch's Amusement and Water Park in Denver for the afternoon. Students will pay their own entry fee to the park. The event will more than likely take place in July, but the date will be determined closer to the Summer Trimester. If you are interested in hosting the recital for this event or being a parent chaperone or driver please let me know!

The NATS Singing Competition will take place on Saturday April 2nd at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado. This is an all day event with scheduled singing times for the preliminary and subsequent semi- and final rounds. If you are interested in participating in this event please discuss it with me in your lesson this week. The paperwork is due to me no later than Monday February 21st, but the music you will perform needs to be chosen as soon as possible.

Attention Interested Piano Accompanists! The singers for the NATS event are in need of an accompanist who can do rehearsals before the event and be present the day of the event until the singer is done with the competition. Please contact Mary Beth Eversole if you are interested in being an accompanist. Must have good sight reading and collaborative piano skills.

Student Achievement Day is no longer allowing game room to be an option to fulfull the two option requirement for the event. However, the game room, along with a scavenger hunt and the Noon Baroque and Classical Vocal and Instrument Presentation, created and performed by your instructor Mary Beth Eversole and several of her FCMTA colleagues, will be activites you can participate in along with your perfoming and options that day. Please plan on spending about 1/2 the day at this event and come ready to have fun!! A note to teen helpers: your shift will probably be 2-3 hours long along with the time you will spend performing your songs and completing your options.

STAD Projects due before the Event!
